Beyond Meetings & Incentives Recertified As A National Minority Business Enterprise
March 01, 2010

Beyond Meetings & Incentives (BMI) has been recertified as a national Minority Business Enterprise by the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) and as adopted by the Council for Supplier Diversity, San Diego Region.

The Council for Supplier Diversity is one of 39 regional councils of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), one of the nation’s leading business membership organizations. The NMSDC and its regional councils serve as a direct link between corporate America and minority owned businesses. There are 3,600 corporate members throughout the network, including most of America’s largest publicly owned, privately owned and foreign owned companies, as well as universities, hospitals and other buying institutions. The regional councils certify and match more than 16,000 minority owned businesses with member corporations which want to purchase goods and services. Most of America’s largest and most successful MBEs are counted among NMSDC’s 16,000 certified minority suppliers, including several companies with annual revenues in the billions of dollars.

BMI, a dynamic organization, joins over 50 other San Diego companies and over 1,800 firms in California who have been MBE certified.

Services provided by BMI include all aspects of meeting planning, transportation and hotel bookings, employee incentive programs, meeting management, themed events, and sports outreach and fundraising programs.

“We’re honored that we’ve been certified by the Greater San Diego Business Council,” Turnauckas said, “and we are prepared to provide excellent products and services to the 16,000 companies affiliated with the National Minority Supply Development Council.”

MBE certification assures that quality minority businesses are available nationwide to meet the needs of the NMSDC network, which includes 450 of the nation’s Fortune 500 companies, according to Ron Garnett, president of the Council for Supplier Diversity, San Diego, Region.

San Diego’s growing list of the Council for Supplier Diversity corporate members include Union Bank of California, Sempra Energy, UPS, Cox Communications, SeaWorld, IBM, SAIC, the Centre City Development Corp, and Turner Construction.
